We don’t just create art—we reclaim connection.

Let’s get real: we’re not going to create a thriving future by using the same thinking and systems that got us here. That’s why we do things differently—merging art, design, science, and creative action to inspire community stewardship and deep connection with the ecosystems we call home.

At Artists With Ecology (AWE), we act on the belief that art can be a positive force for regeneration, education, and conservation of natural systems. We empower artistic engagement with nature, honor Indigenous land stewards, and amplify both Indigenous and non-Indigenous voices—fostering belonging and shared responsibility for the environments we inhabit.

We stay curious. We create awe. And we believe, deeply, that art saves life—human life, plant life, all life.

Art is ceremony. Beauty is activism. Connection with all of life shapes a thriving world—an awakened way of being. As we open to the flow of creativity, an emerging paradigm begins. In a world that needs new connections and models, we see our work as part of the solution—guided by the ancient wisdom of the land’s first peoples and the fresh voices of the young. By integrating these perspectives, we stay receptive, adaptive, and ready to walk the path that’s unfolding before us.

How We Work

Artists With Ecology (AWE) is a consortium of co-creators bringing together art, design, science, and activism to inspire stewardship, restore degraded environments, and cultivate a deeper sense of place.

We shift perspectives—from human-centered to eco-centered—through art as stewardship and stewardship as art. Our projects don’t just make places more beautiful—they actively heal them through ecological approaches like bio-remediation, habitat restoration, and nature-based design.

We work in collaboration with Indigenous artists, youth, elders, educators, scientists, and community members to create living works of public art that reflect and protect the ecosystems they inhabit. Projects range from large-scale murals and interactive sculptures to habitat gardens, water-filtering installations, and seasonal offerings like garden stepping stones, bee baths, storytelling, film screenings, and hands-on eco-art workshops at our Garden and Gallery.

We’re especially passionate about inspiring and mentoring youth—supporting the next generation of artists, earth stewards, and creative problem-solvers. Through murals, school collaborations, and ecological art projects, we help young people see themselves as powerful agents of change.

At the heart of it all, our work is about connection—bringing people together across cultures and generations, making space for both ancient wisdom and fresh ideas, and staying open to the path that’s emerging. We don’t just imagine a better world. We build it—one brushstroke, one garden, one gathering at a time.

Join us. Stay curious. Create awe. Art saves life.
