We are honored to announce that A Sense of AWE: Human Nature – Mural Exposition has been recognized with an Arts Walk Innovation Award from the City of Olympia.
The Purpose of the Award
The Arts Walk Innovation Awards celebrate projects that bring fresh ideas, creativity, and deeper community engagement to Olympia’s Arts Walk. Each season, up to five projects are selected by City staff and a member of the Olympia Arts Commission. The goal is to highlight stories and intentions behind these projects — inspiring others and expanding the Arts Walk experience for everyone.
What This Means for AWE
Our Mural Exposition was chosen for its ability to:
- Engage the public in live art-making
- Celebrate our theme Human Nature, honoring the idea that humans are part of nature, not apart from it
- Uplift diverse voices and create meaningful dialogue through creativity and ecology
Awardees are highlighted in event publications and receive complimentary registration for the following Arts Walk. We are deeply grateful for this recognition and excited to continue bringing art, ecology, and community together in new ways.
